FUNCTION:
Soft Start Valves are designed to gradually increase the supply pressure during system start up to prevent cylinders/tools from slamming open/shut due to air being introduced to the system too quickly. The soft start up valve is designed to allow a soft start up to 50% of the regulated pressure, and then the remaining pressure is allowed to flow through unrestricted.
For example if the regulated pressure is 100 PSI, and we have the soft start valve installed at the point of supply. The soft start valve will allow the first 50 PSI to fill up gradually in the system, once the system pressure reaches 50 PSI, the valve opens fully to allow the remaining pressure build up to 100 PSI quickly.
The start up speed / rate is adjustable by the brass set screw at the bottom, turning it clockwise will create a slower pressurization rate, turning it counter-clockwise will create a faster pressurization rate.
Once the valve is turned off, the air from downstream is directed towards the exhaust port, however the use of the exhaust port is optional, if you wish to maintain a closed system you may elect to plug the R exhaust port.

It is agreed and acknowledged that the provisions of these Terms allocate the risks between MettleAir and the Buyer in a fair and equitable manner, MettleAir€™s pricing reflects this allocation of risk, and but for this allocation and limitation of liability, MettleAir would not have agreed to sell the Products to Buyer. In jurisdictions that limit the scope of, or preclude limitations or exclusions of, remedies or damages or of liability such as liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct or do not allow implied warranties to be excluded, the limitation or exclusion of warranties, remedies, damages or liability set forth herein are intended to apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. |
